Here's a delicious recipe for homemade Chocolate Pie:

Ingredients:

For the crust:

- 1 ½ cups of chocolate cookie crumbs (about 20 cookies)

- 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted

For the filling:

- 1 ½ cups of heavy cream

- 1 cup of whole milk

- 8 ounces of semisweet chocolate, chopped

- ⅔ cup of granulated sugar

- ¼ cup of cornstarch

- ¼ teaspoon of salt

- 4 large egg yolks

- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the topping:

- Whipped cream, for garnish

- Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a medium bowl, mix together the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter for the crust. Press the mixture evenly onto the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake the crust for about 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

3. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream and whole milk over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from the heat and add the chopped semisweet chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then whisk until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks. Gradually pour the chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.

5. Pour the combined mixture back into the saucepan and place it over medium heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Continue to cook for an additional minute.

6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the butter and vanilla extract. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.

7. Pour the filling into the cooled pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula. Cover the pie with plastic wrap, ensuring that the plastic wrap touches the surface of the filling to prevent a skin from forming. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.

8. Before serving, garnish the pie with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Enjoy a slice of homemade Chocolate Pie that is rich, creamy, and absolutely delightful!
